Gone.

So, this past Friday while enjoying an excellent meal at Delicatessen, a couple of thugs broke my back window of my car and stole my G4 Powerbook, as well as my G-Drive hard drive full of un-backed up files. All of my design work from day 1 is now GONE. My school work, my client work, thousands of dollars worth of fonts, stock images, homemade Photoshop brushes, shapes, etc. GONE. My websites, hundreds & hundreds of camera-raw files, my archives of design inspiration, GONE. No one will be able to access any of it, because it’s all password protected, they’ll probably just flip it and take the cash, but man does this suck.

My buddies brand new Mac Book Pro, 80 gig iPod, and Hard Drive was taken as well. Those fucks made out proper. Now it’s on to recovery, picking up the pieces, and building up my data again. They’ll get theirs … i hope.

Dead Finch

Just came across another one of my college buddies blogs this morning. We had a close-knit group in school. We all cared about our work, inspired each other, and became better artists together. There was no doubt in my mind that Badrul wouldn’t go on to work for a big design firm and make a name for himself. And that he did, he’s currently with Huge,Inc. , one of today’s fastest growing online marketing firms out in Brooklyn, New York.

You can check out his blog here at deadfinch.blogspot.com, you can visit his website badrulrupak.com, or check out his amazing photography here.

Fish or Foul?

Every now and then I’ll find a website of a designer, and just be completely floored by their body of work. I came across James Datz’s studio, Niether Fish Nor Foul” out of Brooklyn New York recently, and felt that way.

Hand-designed type, illustration, logo design, garment design, editorial, packaging, and the list goes on … Diverse in style, texture, color, medium, and more. Check out some of his work below, and lots more at his site neitherfishnorfowl.com.
