BIS 10th Anniversary

Really dope T-Shirts / Posters out celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Beats in Space, an outstanding weekly show on WNYU 89.1 FM that showcases the finest music in every genre from every corner of the world. The pieces name each & every guest that had appeared on the show over the last 10 years. Visit the archives at beatsinspace.net for an unimaginable amount of amazing music & dialog. I’d give a list a recommendations of shows I like, but I don’t think I’ve ever NOT liked what I heard, so start from the top & work your way down. PS This is not a shameless attempt to suck up to Tim Sweeny and ask to be invited on the show *cough*, it’s simply the sharing of a wonderful show that I want my readers to enjoy. :)

Detailed pics of the shirt/posters after the jump.

Behind the Scenes with Crystal Method

Divided By Night is their latest album and is their “re-introduction” into performing live sets once again. Recently seeing them in concert, Lara Marsman of BILLBOARD.COM said that they “still perform as they did fifteen years ago, even after a five-year hiatus, demonstrating why they are the original gangsters of electronic music.”

“Divided By Night is a metaphor for our career, for our lives,” explains Jordan. “We do have regular lives during the day, regular family and home lives. At night, when we play shows and when we DJ, it’s a completely different world.” Divided By Night is the first album they’ve recorded in Crystalwerks, their very own studio, which they started building upon completion of their third album, Legion of Boom (’04).

DT x MJ

“Cause tonightt, we’re gonna leave our 9-5 up on the shelf, & just enjoy ourselvess” Michael Jackson was an inspiration to many including Danny Tenaglia. Danny goes on to share, “MJ was more a part of my life than most might ever imagine! The loss of MJ has shattered ‘Another Part of Me’ and I just feel like I want everyone to know exactly how I feel.” On this special tribute night, keep an ear out for the never-before released massive Danny Tenaglia edit of Jackson’s “Thriller” mash-up with “Be Yourself” entitled “Thrill Yourself”. RA: Vince Aletti

Yet another re-post from my favorite dance-music site, here’s the intro: “His recent book The Disco Files collecting his weekly columns at Record World is an invaluable piece of music history. RA plays some classics to one of the first disco journalists, Vince Aletti.” Click here to check out the interview.
